This year the dance recital was the Wizard of Oz.
Rylee was the Tin Man's Heart and did awesome!!
All the cousins did great too!

Memorial Day

This year we went up to the family cabin
in midway for a little get away. My kids loved
running in the mountains and finding bugs
and rocks and of course making smores!

Salt Lake Half Marathon

I ran the Salt Lake Half Marathon with my mom and
Michelle Madsen this year. We had so much fun
training and being in such a huge event. It was
a huge accomplishment!

This spring Rylee and Sam played soccer for the
Holladay Lions Rec. Club. They had a blast!
They are both doing great!

Drew turned 3!!! We went to temple square to see

the lights. The kids had fun running around in

Last Friday My sister Kami, my mom and I went to this is the place park for some halloween fun. The kids had so much fun wearing their halloween costumes and of course spending time with cousins.

Rebekah just started ballet this year. She now officially thinks she is as big as her older sister. She absolutely loves it and asks to go every day.

This August we had a Jones family vacation in Flaming Gorge. We spent a week going boating, waterskiing and tubing. It was fun to spend a whole week together. The sunsets and scenery was amazing.

Laguna Beach

This summer we had so much fun at the beach! We found sand crabs, watched the seagulls and dolphins, ate yummy food, played in the sand, watched the 4th of July fireworks, and watched the sun set every night. We got to spend a day with some of our favorite friends, the Woods fam.

My amazing mom ran the Wasatch Back this past

weekend. She ran 3 legs of about 6 miles each.

After the dance recital we gave Rylee a new hair style. We cut about 8 in.

off. She absolutely loves it, and I am loving

the maintenance of it.

Last night was Rylee's dance recital up at Kingsbury Hall.

They performed Alladdin and Rylee was a monkey.

Her cousins Bella, Kate and Halle were Genie's in a Bottle.

They all did great and had so much fun.

The kids and I decided to do the City of Holladay 5k this past weekend.

I ran the 5K with my mom and the kids ran the 1/4 mile.

The kids thought it was awesome to run in their

own race. My nephew Zack won 3rd in his age group.

So Rebekah runs the show at our house, as if you couldn't tell. She is a little fireball and loves to imitate her brother and sister. I am loving this two year old stage all over again.

Sam and Rylee started playing soccer this year. Sam is still wondering why he has to share one ball, he would rather just have his own. Rylee on the other hand loves to run and kick the ball. She is doing great and almost scored two goals in the last game! Her daddy gives her a dollar for every goal scored!

So Sam thinks he is Super Why. I had to make a blue cape and green glasses for him and he is in 7th heaven. If there are any of you who haven't experienced watching super why its on at 8am channel 7, your kids will love it.

Grandpa Steve taught Rylee how to ski this year. We went three times and she is now skiiing all by herself and loving it. I finally got up there after 10 years!! Now i'm wondering why. It is one of my absolute favorite things.

Ryee and Sam love Tigger and Pooh on Playhouse disney. One day they printed out super slueths masks and were solving cases all day. It is so fun to watch their imaginations grow each day!

January and February went by in a blur. In January I went to Vegas with my sisters and mom just to play and get away. We had a blast, good food, shopping, and time spent with my best friends. February is always fun. The kids love making cookies and delivering them. I surprised Kev with a little get away trip for valentines and his birthday. We went to phoenix to visit my sister Michele and Cody. Again a nice getaway with just the two of us. Life is busy with three kids and everything else in between, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy New Year! I realize we are a little behind on that one but I hope it is happy none the less. We have been super busy trying to keep up with the 3 leaders of our pack. Lara took a trip to St. George with her sisters and mom. That is right, Dad had all 3 hood rats for 4 days. We are all still alive and we didn't eat out for every meal. It is FREEZING cold here in the SLC and we have been spending more time than usual indoors. Not much to report so I included some random photos of hanging out and one of Sam trying to upstage cousin Ed, we couldn't find any cereal lubricant though.

MeRrY ChRiStMaS

We had a wonderful Christmas at our house, the jolly old man swung by and dropped off some tidings of joy. Almost as great as having your kids yell Daddy and run over and give you a big hug when you come home from work is the craziness that overtakes your kids on Christmas morning. Growing up my Dad always tortured us by making us sit there and wait until he was ready to go in the room, so naturally I do the same thing. They really haven't gotten annoyed until this year. Rylee really wanted to destroy me! As always we read the story of the Saviors birth and reminded the kids why we truly celebrate Christmas and then they go crazy and tear open everything in site. We always go to Lara's parents for Christmas breakfast and then return home and get some much needed rest. I have included some photos from the crazy day! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

ZOO LIGHTS

We took the Kids to the ZOO to see the animal light show. For those of you with kids who have not been, this is GREAT! Our kids love the ZOO and this just adds to the fun. Some of the animals are sleeping or inside but the lights are great! Sam got to go in and see the White alligator so all was well with us. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Long Delay

It has been quite awhile since the last post. I have been preoccupied and have seriously slacked lately. Since our last post we have celebrated Sam's 3rd birthday, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Rylee tried to teach Bekah how to ride the eliptical trainer and all Bekah got was a fat lip (see below). Since pictures speak a thousand words, I will let them do the talking. I wish you all a wonderful holiday!

Happy 3rd Birthday Sam! For those of you that know Sam, you can imagine his joy with the CARS cake. So much so that if you look closely you will notice the damage to the front wheel. He pulled it off the counter just to get a peek. Major props to Lara for making this Lighting McQueen cake.

DISNEYLAND

We decided to take the kids to The "happiest place on earth" this past week and for them it was. They were crazy the whole day. We started off at the Disney princess breakfast and finished off with the parade. Sam saw Lighting McQueen and Mater and that made it all worth it! The weather was great and we had a great vacation.

Sam had to clean off some dirt on his hood. He seriously pointed it out to the girl who gave him the rag!

While in California we had a chance to take the kids to the PUMPKIN PATCH in Laguna Hills. The kids had a wonderful time

The goats not only ate the fod they ate the cups they kids used to hold the food.

LONG LAYOFF

I realize that it has been a long time since we last posted and we have no excuse. We have simply been lazy. Lara and I went to San Diego the first weekend in September and loved every minute. Notice that I said Lara and I, that is right no kids! First trip together without the kids, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. We did miss the kids and were happy to get home when it was over. Rylee had started school and loves every minute of it. Sam is turning into quite the little terror and Bekah is trying to walk. It should be an interesting couple of months in our house. We were able to get all the kids together and somewhat happy for some family photos attached below. I know I am biased, but my kids are cute!

It took a lot of work but Bekah has mastered the signal for TOUCHDOWN!

THE HORSE WHISPERER

Last weekend we went to a ranch in Wyoming with all of the Jones family. We had a great time, the kids got to ride horses for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Little did we know that Sam was capable of speaking to horses? We were all talking after a ride and suddenly Sam had disappeared. We looked over at the barn and there he was, carrying on a conversation with the horses.

I am sure the conversation was deep, "Do you know the White Alligator?" "Is CARS your favorite movie too?"

The ability to talk with horses requires the ability to act like an ANIMAL!

Even while riding a 4 wheeler Bekah is never without her two fingers.

CALIFORNIA, BIRTHDAYS and JOBS

A lot has happened since the last post to the blog. Some quick highlights;

Lara and the kids went to the beach for 2 weeks.
Rylee turned 5
Bekah turned 1
I started a new job with OMNI Brokerage, Inc.
Lara registered Rylee for school, she starts KINDERGARTEN in the fall.

Sam is fascinated with stickers right now. This is a picture from when Lara arrived in Utah after driving all day from California.

This is where Sam spent all day at the Beach. Under the umbrella in the shade far away from the OCEAN. It is way to loud for his liking??? He loves the beach, just not the OCEAN.

As mentioned above Rylee turned 5, we cannot believe that she is growing so fast?

This is where Rylee spent all day at the beach. She is a total beach bum and loves the water. She learned to swim completely on her own on this trip.

Bekah was so excited that she turned 1 and that mom let her near the sand that she decided to EAT it.

CRAZY SUMMER

Lions, Tigers and Bears! The summer has been crazy and we have been terrible about updating the blog. The kids have been going to the Zoo every week with their pass and love all the animals. Sam cannot get enough of the White alligator exhibit they have. He talks about the "white gator" all day!

The kids also have a pass to the Children's museum at the Gateway. They love to play with all the exhibits, especially the water works!

People, this is the greatest way to keep up with the latest happenings in life!. As you can see we teach our children at an early age what is really important. We are still trying to wrap up the house remodel and plan for a crazy summer. Rylee will be in Kindergarten in the fall, Sam is turning 3 in October and Bekah will be 1 in July. Life has been chaotic around here and that is how we like it. I hope this finds all of you well, Nate thank you for the inspiration. Have a great day!
